Bug - Waiting for Info Your Problem or Mine?

Probably mine but it's driving me crazy. For several months now I have frequently been getting the text shown below in the chat pane. I do not use tabbed chat. I rarely use vanilla KOL but I tried it and the problem has not yet appeared.
I also occasionally see something similar in the center adventure pane and have to click last adventure to obtain a refresh.

I am running Windows 8 with Firefox 23.0.1 and Greasemonkey. Disabling Greasemonkey had no effect nor did reverting to an older version of Firefox. I can not remember if I had this occur with Win7 so it may be an 8 problem.

I really have no idea and any thoughts would be appreciated.

PS. I keep Mafia on a thumb drive. I also tried a new clean version with no prior history and got the same problem almost immediately.
Currently using Mafia version 16.0 r12466 but this problem has been happening with multiple prior versions.

It does the same in PaleMoon. That's the only one I tried. IE and Chrome wouldn't take all the scripts I wanted so I never tried them beyond the initial stab. They may be better now.

I can try Chrome though without Greasemonkey.

Chrome had no problems, with or without Mafia. So if there are any fingers to be pointed, I guess they point to Firefox.
But vanilla KOL in Firefox was fine. So maybe it's just the combination.

I couldn't get Chrome to run Mr. Script though so I won't be using it unless I do.
Some things are just not worth it.

That was in Chrome with Mafia. Now it's starting to look more like I have some problem with Mafia.
