I believe that the adv/effects work as follows:

Each item has a statistic from 1 to 5 which I'm going to call "valuableness". This is probably intrinsic to the item and seems to be based on something like mall price (presumably baked-in and not updating over time). Given an item's valuableness:

The type of effect is based on the name length, where the length is calculated as the number of UTF-8 bytes in the name after stripping spaces (just like with Heartstone).
