Actually, what you want is for mafia to "breakfast" after ascending. Getting the "Drink Me" is part of breakfast and it does not do that. I can make a good case for breakfast being automatic after ascension.
As for getting the letter from King Ralph... That's why mafia enables postAscension scripts.

It will get the letter from King Ralph, breakfast, set choice adventures according to your current class and do other such actions that you need to do when you begin an ascension. You can set the script to run automatically every time you ascend so that you won't need to worry about it.
