Bug - Not A Bug Familiar Trainer

The KoLmafia familiar trainer doesn't seem to do anything with the familiar-selection drop-down menu. Perhaps I'm using it wrong (wouldn't be the first time ;) ), but intuitively it feels as though the familiar you select there should be the one trained. However, the trainer only acts on whatever familiar I have with me when I start the trainer, and ignores the drop-down.

Every time I select a new familiar in the dropdown, KoLmafia immediately greys out, selects the new familiar, and turns green again.
If I then subsequently select a training button - weight, turns, whatever - it trains the current familiar. I.e., the one it switched to.
 
Hmm... I can't reproduce it either. Probably another user-error... coulda swore that it wasn't doing the gray-out switch thing earlier, but... *shrug*
