New Content - Implemented Clothing of Loathing outfit bonus is missing

Bale

Minion
The Clothing of Loathing has a special outfit bonus, very much like the Blasphemous Bedizenment aka Brimstone Outfit.

This outfit has an effect even if you are not wearing all distinct outfit pieces: for n = number of distinct pieces worn, the effect appears to be (2[sup]n-1[/sup])% +item, (2[sup]n[/sup])% +meat, and +(2[sup]n[/sup])% to all stats. All effects will apply even when only using one piece of the outfit.

I assume code for the Blasphemous Bedizenment can be recycled although the bonuses are different.

According to the wiki (which is by no means guaranteed to be right), that's (2**(n-1))% +item, (2**n)% +meat, and +(2**n)% to all stats. Looks like the superscripts did not survive a cut and paste operation.

Need to
HTML:
[sup] and [/sup]
to get them in properly. :) Or use the handy buttons if you're in the WYSIWYG editor.

Thank you for the formatting advice. I did indeed fail to notice the copypasta fail. First posted corrected.

First is still slightly off... it's showing 2[sup]n[/sup]-1 instead of 2[sup]n-1[/sup] which is what I expect you're going for. :) It's still right when n=1, but then it's the difference between 2 and 3, 4 and 7, etc. :)

At first glance, I think that patch looks okay, other than the change in KoLConstants which you mostly want to revert on your end anyway. I'm not sure how soon I'll be able to test it (if no one beats me to it).

No idea when I edited KolConstants. Reverted that. I also edited the patch to use ">> 1" instead of "/ 2" for the item drop bonus, though the effect is obviously the same.

Running ant changes the file and changes it back, except if you interrupt it the change doesn't get switched back and it stays around until you fix things manually.

Is anyone else able to test this? I verified that it works for me, using a few modtraces (with various subsets of the outfit on) and the modifier maximizer.

In my opinion, that obfusticates the code for no benefit.
I thought ">> 1" looked cleaner because the modifiers are already calculated using bitshift operations, but of course you're free to change it. You're probably right, "/ 2" is more readable.
More importantly, I must have confused myself at some point and reverted my edit to modifiers.txt. I've fixed the patch above to include it again.

"cloathingLevel" is 1 << n, where n is the number of outfit pieces.

Meat Drop, Mus%, Mys%, Mox% are all cloathingLevel.
Item Drop is cloathingLevel / 2.

I think that's how I really think of the modifiers: Item Drop is 1/2 of Meat Drop, pretty much everywhere. Yes, in this case, the value for Meat Drop happens to be calculated via bit shifting, and yes, you can always divide by 2 via a bit shift, but I really think of it as 1/2 and / is therefore clearer.

12281. This means I finally have that outfit now, and I've started on those factoids. Two more ascensions and I will have every factoid.

Congrats! How many are there, currently?

(I have a long way to go; I'm only at 4/2/916. But, I have a whole bunch of things I've never even looked at (jars of psychoses), things I don't really feel like aftercoring to do any more (Hobopolis), things I just haven't gotten around to spending turns on (BRICKOs, reanimated skeletons), old paths I really don't feel like doing repeatedly again, and on and on. Some day. Maybe. :))

1118. I'm also missing the last factoid for two war heroes, but I'll run away until they show up on the same run where I finish off dad. Or maybe I will let them happen naturally, or wait for the next path where 20% navel runaways are a thing again, but I'll be close enough that finishing would be easy and low-cost at least.

I try to get complete factoids for everything I encounter, including War heroes. But there's a lot of shit in the game that I just don't want to do anymore.

Do I really want to kill all Hobopolis bosses three times? Lord knows I don't want to spend the millions of meat necessary to kill a pack of kobolds three times. I really don't want to be bothered with monsters that only exist on the fax machine. Played that once. Now I'm done with it. Once I open that door, I'll only find madness on the far side.

So I only get factoids for stuff I do. I might play some of the old paths for factoids cause at least that was fun and it's nice to walk down the path of nostalgia after a while.

That one at least was covered for me by using it to speed up a level 30 trophy after breaking ronin (and then selling the drops to make it a lot cheaper). You stick to HC though, so that won't work quite as well in your case. I guess if you have the libram, you could probably manage one in AoSP.

I actually haven't stuck to HC religiously since the advent of karma allowing the purchase of hardcore skills. Mostly I prefer to play hardcore though. Except that I almost always do softcore with BIG! because it's fun to use my various high stat requirement items that were previously impossible to use during any ascension. It's fun to pull the Clothing of Loathing! Not optimal of course, but I mostly do BIG! as a prequel to getting more sea equipment so new silly stuff is good.

I believe that if I use a d4 it costs me mall price for using it. Same cost. I don't have the libram though, so the point is moot.

Exactly. I have 2 more War Heroes that I need to see more once each - and I will, eventually, just by playing the game normally. And the next time through the Gladiator path in the Sea will complete the three Collosseum sub-bosses and Shub-Jigawatt. And, by and by, 3 times for Dad Sea Monkee - and that will be it, as far as "doing things I want to do".

Oh, I will do the Jars of Psychoses. I've never seen that content, so it will be amusing enough, I expect. I'm just waiting for Jick to show his insanity to me; judging by how many psychoanalytical jars I have in inventory - I have never purchased one, just collected one a day - I've looked at his profile on 71 days so far with no luck.

And I suppose if I am ever done with BIG, I'll be able to go to the Cola Wars battlefield again.

But, really - I have a list of other monsters I COULD do, and it's all "meh".

I never even thought about the pack of kobolds, much less three of them. Sheesh.
