Bug - Not A Bug Problem with getting the modifier-maximizer to consider both equip and outfit command

When putting "muscle, outfit swashbuckling getup, -equip hand in glove, equip ouija ouija board", the maximizer suggest I do this:

  • equip hat Crown of the Goblin King (+4)
  • keep weapon: Meat Tenderizer is Murder
  • keep off-hand: Ouija Board, Ouija Board
  • keep pants: Vicar's Tutu
  • keep acc1: astral mask
  • equip acc2 Baron von Ratsworth's monocle (-11)
  • keep acc3: shiny ring
Even though I have the swashbuckling outfit and can equip it ("outfit swashb" in the cli succeeds). Putting e.g. "muscle, outfit swashbuckling getup, -equip hand in glove" also succeeds in taking the outfit into consideration. It seems the problem pops up once I add in something else I want to equip in addition to the outfit, though I haven't done a lot of testing.

outfit and equip are incompatible with each other. you need to do the outfit first and then rwmove those slots from the maximizer call.

So perhaps the bug report is that the maximizer doesn't sanity check the maximization string before running it.

From the maximizer's documentation (how many people know it exists?):
If both +equip and +outfit are used together, either one will satisfy the condition - all of the items, or one of the outfits. This special case is needed to be able to specify the conditions for adventuring in the Pirate Cove.
Working as intended, unless someone wants to propose a different way of making the maximizer handle that.

Note that -equip is not the same as +equip.

And as described, either one will meet the needs, so whichever one gives the best maximization results will be the one proposed. I think this thread is now properly marked 'Not a bug' since it's working as designed and provides additional features. If you want to skip removing a specific piece of equipment, the -slot commands work great.
