New Content - Implemented Jack in the Box 'nerf'

Sounds like Jack in the Box now operates every 2-6 turns rather than every 3, so I guess we either don't track it now or just track number of turns since it last fired.

It's not even 2-6, I suspect it's just a % chance each turn. Suggest we don't track it at all. It may be more powerful when it does fire, spading will show later. I guess we'll give it's benefits as averages once spaded.

Even if the average is actually determined, I doubt that's what most people want to see. There's an Item Drop (sporadic) modifier that can be used, and turns since the jack last fired can be displayed without being used in the modifier expression.

Not sure if it was always like this, but familiar action isn't being logged when Jack goes off, as the picture is clown.gif instead of jackinthebox.gif I guess.

Am going to run it a lot today and see what I see.

Wait, really? I thought the update said it got better but less predictable, and I vaguely recall hearing that it occurred every 2.5 turns on average. Assuming geometric distribution (i.e. weighted coin flip every turn), that'd suggest a 2/3 chance every turn after the first.

Increased variance, unchanged mean is _not_ better :|

edit: also, to discount the 2-6 turns thingy, I totally saw a run of 9 combats before Jack fired, so...

It's "better" because nobody is forced to use it to "be optimal" anymore. Because it's too unreliable to be optimal.
