    aqua: very interesting! I've long suspected that string manipulations were "expensive" (mafia devs have mentioned as much) and might be responsible for the slowdown, but that's a fascinating experiment. If anyone's got a brief primer on buffers I'll take a look at converting it.

    Nice troubleshooting aqua! That's similar to what I've seen, although with me, mafia gets out of it eventually. At the end of the day this is probably a mafia 'bug' (or limitation).

    Yes. The problem is that after you fail to buy something, you should recalculate assuming a higher price. It's the "brokenprice" structure that remembers this price. I suspect that part isn't working right. Since your adventure setting is 500, jello and cruelty-free wine seems reasonable...

    Next time you use it (assuming it doesn't loop), please post the summary here. Even if it doesn't have you drink jello shots I can probably figure out if there's an issue. I suspect you might have a higher value on stats than I usually do, in which case it's acting properly though.

    Damn. Yes, I'm seeing it too. I wish it was easier to repro. Why was it recommending jell-o shots? THere was an old bug that made them look more attractive than they should, but that's long gone in current builds. Are you in ronin and have some available, or something?

    FWIW, 3 instances of mafia (versus the existing 2) would be superfabulous. It's not uncommon that I'm running tests on my 2 multis while adventuring with my main. My scripts tend take a long time to debug. :)

    Something I've noticed: as of some mafia builds ago, farm.ash will behave a little differently. Not every line shows up, and it's very slow to respond if you hit the ESC key. I'm not sure when this happened, but it can make it look like farm.ash crashed. It takes about 2 min to run (may vary...

    It's how much you're willing to pay for one adventure, which should be at least the amount you could make using that adventure to farm. It basically maximizes this number: (adventures * value of adventure) - cost for each item you consume.

    I think I fixed the problem with infinite looping on "broken" prices - it's hard to reproduce the problem, though, so please let me know if this works for you. If so, I'll update the main posting.

    One of my scripts (ascend) started behaving oddly, and I found the problem: my main, dj_d, no longer has the "azazel, ma belle" entry in his questlog. He's level 42 and still has a liver of steel (he got it in 2004 :) ), and my multies still have their entry, but for some reason it's missing on...
